Announcements:
DSG (District Simplified Grants): Eileen Wasserbach. We put up money, and it is matched by the District. Eileen has approached the 3 Durango clubs about matching our $1k for the Torch Club, which is the Leadership training program for the Boys and Girls Clubs. The $8k would be shared between the Durango B&G Club and the Eastern County B&G Club.
Late with your dues? Reminder notices will be sent our after 45 days. More than one billing cycle behind will receive a call.

Program: Dave Ellisor, Ignacio Community Collaborative talked to us about mental health issues.
1. Great fun about genetics versus environment.
2. Environment just like training horses: make unwanted behavior ununcomfortable, goodbehavior is comfortable.
3. Set the bar high: to fail is to learn.
4. O(m or f) = f(HE) + T. Means how you are is a function of heredity and environment plus time.
5. New direction for psychoanalysis: Not where you’ve been and why, but where do you want to be, and why, and how. (great news to this old Skinner rat trainer!)

Good one: Mental Illness is disorders characterized by alternation in thinking( alzheimers), mood (depression), and behavior (ADHD) associated with distress and or impaired functioning.
